Your production quality in this song is extraordinary, Jordi. You have always impressed me greatly, but this is such a beautifully poignant and melancholic journey that I couldn't listen and vote without saying a few words. Anything less would be a disservice to such emotional strains. The music perfectly accompanies your vocal talents, and with the overall quality, I can easily imagine this playing at the crescendo of some of the most feeling-driven moments that happen in life, not to mention being used in cinema or for another award-winning soundtrack.

etherealwinds responds:

Your words mean a lot to me Thomas, as always. For the first time in 5 years, I've actually upgraded my microphone. I'm in love with it and it definitely allows for better production quality too. I'm really glad you enjoyed it :)

It's so well done, Step and everyone
I wish that I'd been asked to join in, too
Woo, ooh, ooh
Such a fantastic song from yesteryear,
You put a smile on my face today
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

Step responds:

CHRONO. Hey! Aw man, shame you didn't take part :c. We're probably doing another one soon. Keep an eye on the thread!

Glad you like it. c:

Phyrnna called it: totes magotes moar cowbell. The combination of sitar and ukulele is dreamy. Oh, and those loon calls are a really nice ambient touch. 67 1/2 stars out of 5. All my base. Eat at Joe's.

Spoiler alert: Darth Vader is Luke's father.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I know right!? She always comes with the best advices :3
The ambient dubstep was a very interesting section to make, one could say it was quite experimental, actually. The sitar is actually an organ with some special effects, if I remember correctly, and the ukulele is actually a heavily modified cowbell (but there should have been more of it). Hmm, I should try out Joe's place, it sounds cool.

OMG how dare you spoil Trek Wars after all these years! I still had to watch that movie, and now it's ruined D: *goes off to cry in a corner*

I have a very special place in my heart for this song and piano pieces, in general. Every strain of this is beautiful, both the delicate and the strong, and your piano skills definitely do justice to the theme. This is quite possibly the best cover of this that I have ever heard, and that my friend is saying something. Bravo!

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks a lot ChronoNomad! That truly means a lot coming from such a great musician such as you :')
If you like this cover, I'm sure you'd love Kyle Landry's cover!

It seems that this piece holds a very special place in many peoples souls. Not only is the composition amazing by itself, but it's tied to so many memories...

You soothe my mind and soul, Jordi. My thoughts wander across distant lands and shores as I listen, soaring above the heights and deep beneath the waves. Such glorious harmonies that they give me shivers. It makes my very heart ache, and by now you must know that I will always have a special love for the melancholic strains of a piano. Absolutely beautiful, and I wish you the best of luck in this round of the NGADM!

Ever your fan,
ChronoNomad

etherealwinds responds:

You are so sweet.

Thinking of anybody as a 'fan' of myself makes me feel awkward. You're my friend after all! Thank you so much though, you are so kind. You know I have a lot of respect for your music!

Hey, Pandasticality!

Your pseudonym is way too kawaii for the wubs that you bring to the party. ^__~
That being said, I like both, so just keep right on being you.

You know, I actually hear quite a bit of Dubstep in my travels, and I have moods where I'm totally into it and others when I'm just not. In all honesty, I wasn't really in a Dubstep kind of mood before dropping by, but this track totally flipped my switch. Color me impressed.

There isn't a whole lot of variety in the main melody and supporting harmonies, but the chords and arpeggios sound great together and you've done a great job keeping the beats fluid. Oh, and as for that drop... THAT DROP! It was quite literally spine-tingling. It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to Dubstep these days, so well done.

Pandasticality responds:

thank you for your kind words n__n;

Superb. The harp, deep strings, and lyrical harmonies are so wonderfully complementary and effective; so very rich and complex and emotive. Beautifully done.

etherealwinds responds:

Chrononononoyeaaaa! Good to see you around. I'm always pleased to know your opinion. I'm surprised they didn't pair us against each other again this year! *hugs*

Simply lovely, Troisnyx! The pacing and overall sound really are reminiscent of several PS 1-era games, most notably - to me, at least - Chrono Cross. Your instrument choices are fun and appropriate, but I admit that I found myself wishing that at least some of the wooden xylophone (or was that marimba?) had been a bit of acoustic guitar, harp, dulcimer, or something else from the plucked family of strings. Regardless of my own mental meanderings, the journey was a beautiful and soulful one. Very nicely done and best of luck to you!

Troisnyx responds:

Eh, thanks! A hammered dulcimer would've perhaps done the trick, I agree -- in the vein of music done by Enya, Erutan, Akiko Shikata etc. The mallets were the closest I could bring it to, I'm afraid. ^_^'

I'm glad you liked the song regardless. All the best to you!

You are one gloriously talented mo'fo! Like always, your music and lyrics are nothing less than transcendent. There is so much variance in your sound, man! Every. Single. Time. You really blow me away, and I couldn't possibly rate this any lower than five out of five if I wanted to.

So this actually made you late for work? That is poetry in motion right there. Totally worth it in my opinion. Unless you got fired... Nope, still worth it! Keep doing what you're doing and being you. It makes my ears happy.

Kor-Rune responds:

I stayed up all night changing levels and just decided to lay down for ONE MINUTE before I had to leave for work. not fired tho, half wish I was ugh

Thanks Chrono! I'm glad you can enjoy my adhd :)
