ChronoNomad's News

Posted by ChronoNomad - July 9th, 2011

Someone brought it to my attention that I hadn't cranked out a news post in a while, and you know what? He was right. So here I am, typing up a shiny new post for Newgrounders everywhere.

Well, as the subject states I've submitted over 50 songs now. I just started making audio submissions in 2011, so that's got to be some kind of record. Maybe. Anyway, it seems pretty impressive to me, and you all get to listen to that music for free, so...awesome!

Of course the wellspring doesn't run on positive vibes alone, so take a minute to listen, vote honestly, and write up a review. You should definitely check out my newest submissions if you haven't yet! Sure, I make the music mostly for myself at the end of the day, but I really love putting it out there--especially when there are people who truly appreciate it. As long as I feel that there is an audience, I will continue to make my music available here.

I still have quite a few songs that require mastering, and I'm taking my time putting them up here as I finish each one. I am currently working on a new song, and I'm hoping that it will be as big as my current most popular song, Forever Fantasy, but we'll have to just wait and see. I've got some other stuff on the back burner, too. Currently unfinished songs and things like that.

Well, keep on looking out for new submissions from me! I'll be around. If you want to use a piece for a project you're working on, please feel free to PM me.

Here's the obligatory 40-song milestone post, folks! I also want to give a shout out to one of my newest (and busiest) fans: Dendrago! Dude, you have left a review on a ton of my songs. In all honesty my 40th submission, -Dragon Flight-, was chosen mainly because of you. I will keep right on making the music as long as you, and all the other fans out there in Newgrounds land, keep right on listening, voting, and dropping the occasional review!

I also have two great original compositions that hit the Top 30 this week:
-Gunslinger-
-Nightmare

Finally, here is my most popular song in 2011 (so far), which has been in the Top 30 twice now, including last week:
-Forever Fantasy-

With over 5,000 listens since being added in March it's simply not to be missed. Thanks to everyone who has voted and reviewed, and I continue to be blown away by all the positive feedback. Case in point: you guys freaking rock!

To everyone who has listened, voted, downloaded and reviewed my music I just want to thank you. You know who you are, and I appreciate all your incredible patronage. You aren't just numbers to me.

To all the users who have added me to their favorite artists since I submitted my first songs on January 24, 2011, and to any who do so in the future, I want to let you know that each and every one of you is a direct source of inspiration. You make all the time and effort worthwhile, and most importantly you make me want to keep improving--to be even better.

I could go on and on thanking the creators of Newgrounds; all the incredible animation, audio, and visual artists; and everyone else that plays and has played a role in making this site what it is today, but I don't think I could even begin to express my gratitude and how very impressed I am in mere words. You know who you are, and you know what you've done.

I'll keep right on doing my small part...hopefully for a long, long time.

Hey, who doesn't like weaponry? Guns, blades, blunt instruments, etc. Yes, they're dangerous. Of course it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Regardless of that fact, with the proper respect weaponry can become a useful tool in our daily lives...right?

So, what's your favorite type of weapon? Make and model? Whether you merely admire it from afar for its aesthetic qualities, or even if you've only gotten to use a particular weapon when playing a game, I think it would be interesting to hear about. Existing weapons, mythical weapons, or even a weapon design that came straight from your own twisted imagination--let's hear about them!

After detailing the weapon in question, go ahead and say a few words about why you like it. Is it the overall design that makes it so awesome? The way it leaves a visceral, crimson trail of death and destruction in its wake? Or the fact that it can decimate whole armies with little to no effort when used successfully? Do tell!

...but so few votes. What's up with that? It takes like one second to vote. Literally. I get that some folks don't have time to sit there and write up a review, but the voting is a single-click affair. If you like something, you should definitely vote for it. If you don't, well...that's up to you, but it's still nice to acknowledge that someone put effort into a submission if they actually did.

Support the Flash, Audio, Art, and Game creators that spend time and effort on something to provide you with entertainment. It's the right thing to do, and - even more importantly - it will serve as motivation for them to make more. You know you love coming here and checking out all this great stuff for free.

And hey, if you've got the time and something you want to say, type up an honest review. Suggestions and fixes may not necessarily go into effect for what you're reviewing, and that's the artist's decision, but there's always a good chance that ideas will be noted for future submissions. Your opinion counts, and if you can actually help offer useful advice to make Newgrounds even better, wouldn't you want to do just that?

Okay, so I've been a member of Newgrounds for...well...a really long time now. Not since the very beginning, but pretty darn close. I think it's about time I made a post on here, don't you?

At first I joined Newgrounds just to watch Flash animations. Believe it or not, I saw the estimable Tom Fulp on G4. Shortly after, I just had to see what this "Newgrounds" thing was all about. I've been hooked ever since. I've done lots of watching, listening, voting, and a fair amount of reviewing in the years I've been a part of NG.

A couple years ago I posted my first (and thus far only) Flash animation project on here. It was done for my college animation class, and honestly it could have been much better. But hey, that's what you get when you're just learning the ropes and you have a deadline of just a few weeks. I'm not making excuses, but those are the facts. It's not very good, and I'm conceding that Flash animation may not be for me in general.

However, I have recently begun adding my musical compositions to the Audio Portal, and thanks to a decidedly favorable response I have concluded that this is where my talents lie as far as the portal is concerned. I've done lots of original compositions, as well as a ton of remixes and covers, not to mention a musical mash-up or two. I quite literally have almost nine hours worth of music that I've completed. The only issue right now is that it's not readily available in MP3 form on a computer. I hope to remedy that in the not-so-distant future and add more submissions to my NG repertoire for your listening enjoyment.

I guess that will do for now. In the meantime, if you like what you hear please vote...and honestly, reviews just plain make my day. Thanks.

First post...woo!
